Chuck
Owner
Captain of the crew for 40 years, Chuck is well-versed in both power & sailboats. He's known locally & abroad for his wit and welcoming personality. Read our store history to learn more as Chuck's story is so long and the core of our Sailorman roots.
CHUCK CAN HELP YOU WITH: anything under the sun. He knows it all. He's also the only authority over your final price! Chuck's a difficult one to pin down as he's always being tugged in every direction.
General Manager

Heather
After years of wrangling four lively young sea sprites and being a devoted lover of the seashore, Heather is truly a marvel! She’s now taken the helm to keep our ship in family hands. Catching Heather at her desk is like spotting a dolphin at dawn (Hint: best send a message by sea-mail). Of course, being the captain's daughter comes with its treasures! Heather keeps our sails steady by steering the ship through marketing, crew management, and everything between. She carries her heavy cargo with elegance and charm. A true mermaid at heart, Heather adores sandy toes, salty locks, and life on the great blue!
Sales Manager & Used Gear Purchasing

Dave
After 34 years at Sailorman, Dave is a wealth of knowledge for anything marine-related. In addition to selling, Dave is our used gear buyer and essential person to our crew's personality. He's adventured waters far and wide and can also connect you with pretty much anything you'd be seeking, from someone selling or even giving away a boat to parts or dockages and advice (he takes like 3 phone calls simultaneously and makes connections humbly and sincerely). He's the second most sought-after person on the ship. On land, Dave enjoys time with his mate, his trusty dog, and cruisin’ on his Harley!

Jeff
Affectionately (well, historically) known as "Adaptos". Searching for that "hard-to-find" part? Odds are Jeff knows right where it lie having been with Sailorman since 2006 as our parts guy. These days you'll find this lifelong sailor behind his desk ordering our new store products to keep the goods a flowing. But the secret is... ask to be directed to his office and he'll find and order any marine part you seek. He also currently started doubling as a local Santa Clause in the winter so he also goes by "Jingle".
Shipping & Splicing

Elkin Se habla español
Elkin be our resident magician... This skilled Colombian salt can ship near anything to the farthest corners of the globe. Davits to New Zealand, watermakers to Iceland—no trouble at all! When he's not workin' his shipping magic, ye'll find him working on high-quality rope splicing, and crafting impressive art projects. In his off hours, Elkin enjoys time with his loyal dog, a cold cerveça, fine cooking, tinkering in his dinghy, and riding his bike along the shore.

Bosun (Floor Manager)
Eli

Meet Eli, though truth be told, Sailorman has known him a whole lot longer than that. He’s Heather’s youngest son, Chuck’s grandson, and he practically grew up between these aisles — cashiering as soon as he could count the money properly, usually with chocolate on his face and a Coca-Cola somewhere nearby.
These days, Eli is all grown up and serving as our Bosun, helping lead the crew with a quiet confidence and humility that make us mighty proud of the man he’s become.
Outside Sailorman, Eli has a lifelong fascination with Japan. He visits regularly, speaks Japanese fluently, and somehow manages to balance that adventurous streak with being one of the steadiest young hands aboard.
No boat of his own just yet — but after growing up at Sailorman, we figure the sea has already claimed him anyway.
Cashier

Chris
Meet Chris, a Fort Lauderdale local and one of the younger hands on the Sailorman crew. His seafaring résumé may currently consist of one water-taxi ride and a solid appreciation for Pirates of the Caribbean, but everybody has to start somewhere.
Chris is getting his marine education the Sailorman way — one strange boat part, customer story, and day on the floor at a time. When he’s not here, you’ll usually find him lifting, boxing, playing video games, or settling in with a good movie or show.
Boat ownership? Not yet. But give the kid some time — he works at Sailorman now.

Derek

Meet “Handy Dandy Derek,” our newest crew member, straight out of Greenport, Long Island. Derek’s been around the water his whole life, and you can tell pretty quickly it’s where he feels at home. These days, he’s working on making his own boat, Riff Raff, into something as unique as he is.
He’ll tell you himself he came to Sailorman with plenty still to learn, but that’s part of what he loves about being here. Every day brings a new boat part, a new story, and somebody interesting walking through the door.
When he’s not learning the ropes around here, Derek’s an artist—pencil, airbrush, you name it. He likes black, has a soft spot for sharks, and we’re mighty glad he found his way onto the Sailorman crew.
